Daisy Duking It Out: Flip Floppers, Dead Babies, and Back Flipping Monkeys

Political ads have a long and storied history in American elections. Some work, and other's just don't. So let's take a look at how some of the current crop of ads stack up:
  • In what you can already tell is the first of a series of ads attacking Mitt Romney as a flip flopper, the DNC released an ad promoting their Which Mitt website.  But frankly I think it could be punchier:
  • Piling on, Jon Huntsman released this (frankly better) ad attacking Romney for his shifting positions on healthcare:
  • Rick Santorum wants you to know that dead babies do not support Herman Cain:
  • Oddly choosing to draw attention to the fact that he can't actually speak English, Rick Perry released this ad attacking Obama for using a teleprompter (topical!).  Finding it also taught me that the most searched for term on Youtube for Perry is "Rick Perry drunk":
  • And by far the best ad of the week came from Jon Huntsman, who again savaged Mitt Romney for being a flip flopper, this time with a back flipping toy monkey and haunting music:
