- The first carwash workers union in the country has been formed under the United Steelworkers in my old stomping grounds of Santa Monica, CA. I'll leave all of the "cleaning up the industry" puns for the press release.
- Both Wells Fargo and Bank of America have backed down from their plans to charge customers for using their debit cards. Remind me again how the Occupy Wall Street protestors won't accomplish anything.
- The Pill isn't just a great way to prevent unwanted pregnancies, it also turns out that taking it for more than 10 years halves a woman's chance of getting ovarian cancer. Expect for Republicans to be calling for it to be outlawed any day now.
- In a refreshing change of pace in standing up for the base, the Democratic Governors Association has donated $150,000 to the campaign to repeal Ohio's anti-Union law. Standing by your allies, what a novel concept.
- British women have broken that highest of glass ceilings, with all the nations in the commonwealth agreeing to change the rules of succession so that a princess can become Queen of England ahead of her younger princely brothers. So ok, it's not going to help all British women but it's still kind of cool.
Have a positive week everyone!
