- Rush Limbaugh wants you to know that "some days I think, I feel like I'm the only smart person alive." As proof that he's wrong I'd like to submit the fact that he thinks "there's no evidence" that Obama "loves the country," and in fact believes that Obama is launching "Pearl Harbor day 2, the attack on the country by the President." But the real evidence that Rush may be back on the Hillbilly Heroin is that he believes that "Fox News is not part of a conservative movement...it just isn't."
- How do I know that he must be out of his mind to think that Fox isn't part of the conservative movement? Simple, Fox Business News host Stuart Varney told me they were. Oh and then they declared war on the Muppets for being communists out to brainwash our children.
- The Republican National Committee is warning Republicans that attacking Obama personally is probably a bad idea because most of the country actually likes him and doesn't think he's a Secret Kenyan Muslim Marxo-Fascist Manchurian Candidate. Anyone want to place a bet on whether Republicans will listen?
- Especially when you've got guys like Jon Huntsman reversing his position on climate change to appease the Republican Party's rabid base. Then again I'm not sure how much credit he deserves for his old opinion that man was causing global warming, but we shouldn't do anything to stop it. I think that's technically more evil than saying man isn't responsible so we don't need to do anything.
- In defending this deceptive ad (which I've already dissected) a top Romney operative explained "We are in the persuasion business, the propaganda business." Now putting aside the wisdom of a political campaign saying they're in the propaganda business, I'm professionally offended that they can say that and then let Romney use the argument that "well, I ran for office, but I didn't win" as a defense against him being a professional politician. Is it too much to ask that if you're going to be Orwellian you at least be good at it?
- Finally as always we turn to our animated Taiwanese foreign correspondents, this time for a look at Newt Gingrich's odd spending habits:
