Terrific Tuesday Tidings: High Schoolers and the President Take a Stand

It's Tuesday and that means it's time for my ongoing quest to become a more positive person. Here are the news stories that made me happy this week:
  • When the Catholic Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota, held school assemblies to try and convince high school seniors to vote for the state's gay marriage banning constitutional amendment in the Fall, I'm not sure how they expected it to go.  But I'm pretty sure they didn't expect this.
  • High school students aren't the only ones standing up for gay families in Minnesota, President Obama has come out against the amendment as well.  While I'm disappointed that he continues to "evolve" instead of just coming out in favor of marriage equality, at least we can count on him to fight against open discrimination.
  • Finally, this picture from Afghanistan is pretty cool.  The times they are a changing:
